First 60 Seconds — Client Call Cheat Sheet

The four beats, the read-back, and the sound pair that gives you away. Keep it next to the laptop.

The four beats (say them in this order)

BeatSay thisHear
1 Greet “Good morning, sir. How are you doing?”
2 Identify “This is Altamash, calling from the studio.”
3 Purpose “I'm calling about the Zaira Furnishing website.”
4 Permission “Is this a good time, or should I call back later?”

Pattern for beat 3: I'm calling about + noun. Product, price list, photos, invoice, delivery date — same frame, new noun. Never build a new sentence.

Read-back (after every requirement)

SituationSay thisHear
Short requirement “So just to confirm, you want the curtains section first. Right?”
Long requirement “Let me repeat that back, just to be sure I got it right.”
Messy, many items “Let me summarise. Three things: product list, photos, and the price page.”
Client asks something new “That's a good question. Give me a second.”
You cannot answer now “I'll check that and get back to you by evening.”

Closing the call

V and W — the pair that gives you away

SoundMouthYour words
/v/ Top teeth on the bottom lip, lip buzzes. video, verify, virtual, very, save
/w/ Lips round like a kiss, teeth touch nothing. website, wallpaper, we, would, work

Practice line, three times — slow, normal, fast:
“I will verify the video on the website very well.”

WhoSay this
Friend Hey, how are you? Quick thing — I'm working on a furnishing website for a client. It's curtains, wallpaper and mattresses. I still have to finish the price page. What are you working on?
Client, update Good evening sir. Quick update on the website. The homepage is ready. I'm waiting for the mattress photos from your side. Once you send them, I'll finish in two days.
Client, delay Sir, I have one update. The photo editing is taking one extra day. I'll send the final link on Thursday evening. Sorry for the small delay.
Client, money Sir, the first milestone is complete. Can you please release the payment? I'll send the invoice on WhatsApp right now.

Record one of these as a voice note before you send it. Playing it back is the cheapest feedback you will ever get.
